FOLRADURA
Hundreds of thousands of strokes, bent by local forces until the surface looks like fur.

FOLRADURA means fur in Old Occitan, a Romance language spoken in the south of France. This project explores producing organic patterns using a cocktail of maths, physics, noise and randomness.
Thanks to all the people who helped me on this project, especially, Julien Labat, Rich Poole, Nudoru and Matthieu Segret.
FOLRADURA was my first long-form series on Ethereum and my first on 256ART, launched on 9 July 2022.
Organic
FOLRADURA combines several techniques to get an organic appearance: each piece draws more than 500,000 vectors and points, with a lot of randomness and noise. It plays with the balance between order and chaos.
Aspect
The complexity of this work ends up creating impressions of volumes, shadows and lights, photography…
Variation
This collection includes a very large number of possible variations. Some of these properties define the colours and how they are assigned. Others belong to the local modifiers and set their effects, position, intensity, modulations and synchronisation. Finally, some set the size of the margins and the number and orientation of the divisions.
